Let's Talk about the Role We are looking for an outstanding Merchandise planner to join the TNF EMEA Merchandising Team in Stabio, Switzerland. In this role you will act as the hub between Merchandising teams and other key cross-functional partners, eg. DTC, Sales Operations, Planning, Finance and Global Merchandise Planning. This role will be the driver of improvement in our data capabilities, product information accuracy, sales report analysis on bookings/performance, understanding marketplace capacity and alignment of multiple cross functional processes. Additionally, supporting the Merchandising function to achieve brand’s strategic, financial and distribution goals. What you will do:

  • Act as point of reference for Merchandising in all operational projects/discussions with cross functional teams
  • Main contact with the Global Merchandise Planning team
  • Partner with Sales Operations/DTC for reporting – sell-in and sell-through
  • Support EMEA Merchandising team and work with the different members of the team to continually identify areas of improvement for Merchandise Planning
  • Become the Line List/Enovia/Flex “super user”
  • Represent Merchandising Team in Master Data conversations and projects
  • EMEA Merchandising Team calendar management
  • Partner with Merchandising Director and Merchandise Leads to develop seasonal revenue/margin targets by category that align with financial and brand strategies
  • Help the Merchandising Team in developing analytical framework to be used to inform strategic assortment strategies
  • Provide overall SKU count guidance to Merchandising Team using analysis of historical trend, market opportunities and other quantitative analysis
  • Report on SKU count and conduct SKU rationalization exercises
  • Partner with Demand Planning, ensuring forecasts are connected to strategic focuses
  • Connect with Sales Operation to ensure proper product segmentation is reflected into the sales tools
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis in support of Merchandising Team
What you need to succeed:
  • Educational/Position Requirements: Financial, Statistical or Business Bachelor’s degree
  • Fluent English (both written and spoke) and comfortable to present in English
  • Software Applications: Microsoft Office – very strong Excel required
  • Professional experience in merchandise planning, forecasting or buying
  • Experience in retail & sales analysis
  • Passion for The North Face and the lifestyle it represents
  • Passion for product
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify business opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate analysis to broad audience
  • Collaborative attitude and good communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • IT Systems savvy (any knowledge of Cognos, Flex PLM and Enovia is a plus)
  • Able to manage responsibilities & tasks without direction
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to change
